Michelle McKenzie
Nutritionist (BSc, ANutr)
I’m Michelle McKenzie, a Registered Associate Nutritionist (BSc, ANutr), specialising in metabolic health, gut health, fasting protocols, post-viral fatigue and healthy aging. I am the founder of The Regeneration Diet and The Regeneration Retreats.
My path into nutrition began in 2009, following a diagnosis of type 1 diabetes, a turning point that brought me back to academia after a decade in the music industry. Living with a chronic condition myself has given me first-hand insight into the daily decisions and challenges it can bring. That experience shapes my approach, combining nutritional science with practical support that fits the realities of each client’s life.
I graduated from the London Metropolitan University with a first-class honours in Human Nutrition and was awarded the Dietetics, Food & Nutrition Awards Prize in recognition of my academic achievements.
In 2017, my research into low-carbohydrate approaches in diabetes management was published by Cambridge Journals, and I was invited to present the findings at the Royal Society of Medicine. This work went on to gain national and international media attention, contributing to wider conversations around metabolic health and dietary approaches to managing and reversing type 2 diabetes. My work was featured in The Medical News, Science Daily, and Diabetes UK.
I developed The Regeneration Diet, a five-day nutrition programme, following my own experience of post-viral recovery. The programme is also at the heart of The Regeneration Retreat, which has been featured in The Sunday Times, The Independent, Prima Magazine and The Evening Standard.
For over a decade, I have worked one-to-one with a wide range of clients from members of my local community to Oscar and BAFTA-winning creatives.
The secret to healthy eating is no secret at all: fresh ingredients, cooked from scratch.
Sharing a meal with friends and family is one of life's greatest pleasures, and with so much advice about what to eat, it can be easy to lose sight of that.
Think seasonal fruit and vegetables, quality protein, fibre rich prebiotic foods, fermented foods, legumes, spices, herbs, nuts, seeds and healthy fats.
Good nutrition isn't about counting every calorie or following the latest food trend. It's about finding a way of eating that nourishes you, fits your life and feels sustainable.
It's good for you, it's good for your family and good for the planet.

Client Stories
“Michelle is an amazing person to work with, she is incredibly thorough and combines a solid understanding of the science behind the nutrition as well as a pragmatic approach as to what was achievable in my situation.
I was amazed to experience the difference it made and how quickly I started feeling stronger and more focused. She was not just a source of knowledge but also immensely supportive during this difficult time.
Her enthusiasm and positive energy made any changes to my usual diet easy and my energy levels improved as well as my general wellbeing.”

Our health isn't just about what we eat. It's about what we can digest, absorb and convert into energy.
From the food on our plates to the environments we inhabit, everything we take in influences how we function, physically, mentally and emotionally.
But nothing works in isolation. Sleep, movement, metabolic health, gut health, emotional health and the nervous system are all interconnected, each influencing the others.
Understanding these connections is the foundation of my approach.
